Process

Four steps from spreadsheet to scanner

  1. Export products from your old POS, or take your distributor price file or a spreadsheet. CSV or Excel both work.

  2. Tell the importer which column is the UPC, name, size, category, cost, price and stock. Save the mapping for next time.

  3. The preview flags duplicate barcodes, missing prices and unknown categories before anything is written, row by row.

  4. Products, units and opening stock are created. Scan any bottle at the register and it rings.

Five habits that keep a big catalogue clean

  1. One product per bottle size. A fifth and a handle are two products; a case of fifths is a unit of the fifth.
  2. Use the UPC as the key. Price updates from distributor files then match exactly, with no duplicates.
  3. Keep categories shallow. Spirits › Bourbon is enough; reports and age prompts read better.
  4. Bring cost, not just price. Profit and stock-value reports need it from day one.
  5. Count before you import stock. Opening stock from a fresh count beats numbers from a system you are leaving.

FAQ

Catalogue import questions

No. 01

How do I import my liquor store inventory?

Export your products to a CSV (from your old POS, a distributor file or a spreadsheet), upload it, match the columns to fields like UPC, name, size, category, cost and price, check the preview, then import. We recommend batches of up to 5,000 rows. Or send us the file and we import it free.

No. 02

How many products can I have?

There is no product limit on any plan. Stores with 5,000 to 15,000 items are common; very large catalogues are imported in batches.

No. 03

Which barcodes are supported?

UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-13, EAN-8 and Code 128, plus your own internal codes. A product can carry more than one barcode, for example the bottle UPC and the case UPC.

No. 04

Can I import from my old POS?

Yes. Most POS systems can export products to CSV. Send us the export and a screenshot of one product screen, and we will map it for you.

No. 05

What about products with no barcode?

Give them an internal code and print barcode labels from the product list on any label printer the software supports.

No. 06

Can I update prices from a distributor file later?

Yes. Re-import with the UPC as the match key and only the columns you want to change, such as cost and price. New products are added; existing ones are updated.

No. 07

Do product photos come across?

Image URLs in the file are imported and used on the online store. Products without a photo show a clean placeholder until you add one.

No. 08

Does the import set case units?

Yes. A unit column sets the base unit and its case size, so cases and singles work from the first sale.

No. 09

What does it cost?

Nothing. Self-import is part of every plan, and our team imports your file for free if you prefer.

Send us the file. We'll do the import.

Free on every plan. Start the trial, then reply to the welcome message with your CSV or POS export.
